OUR PERSPECTIVE
MāKā is focused on personal wellness. We have pledged to donate a minimum of 1% of gross revenues to non-profits that align with our focus on the health of our planet, waterways and ocean. We are proud to announce that we have selected the Surfrider Foundation, The Nature Conservancy’s New Zealand based initiatives, and We Are Neutral to receive contributions from the sale of our beverages. Additionally, we make an annual donations to select charities in the name of each employee.

The Kotahitanga mō te Taiao Alliance
MāKā is supporting the Kotahitanga mō te Taiao Alliance in New Zealand through initiative specific donations made to the Nature Conservancy.
This alliance, which stands for “Collective Action for Our Nature” aims to “produce the best possible conservation outcomes for people and nature on New Zealand’s South Island.” Based on the Māori world view that it is everyone’s responsibility to protect and maintain the natural world for future generations, we look forward to be an impactful supporter of the alliance through The Nature Conservancy.

We Are Neutral is an environmental non-profit that helps businesses and individuals understand, reduce, and offset their comprehensive carbon footprints, giving them the opportunity to take responsibility for their environmental impact and achieve carbon neutrality. Learn more at We Are Neutral.
The Tīkapa Moana / Te Moananui-ā Toi / Hauraki Gulf Challenge Fund
MāKā is supporting the Hauraki Gulf Waters of New Zealand through donations made to the Nature Conservancy. This alignment of our support is in line with our efforts targeted at ocean health and water sustainability but especially important because of our desire to help restore 1,000 square km of shellfish beds to the Hauraki Gulf, a taonga (treasured possession) of national importance to both people and nature in New Zealand and beyond . OUR FOUNDER
Dedicated to personal well-being, founder Brian Hill was determined to produce a wheatgrass based organic beverage that enabled him to amplify his daily life without the negative aspects of conventional drinks. He and his wife Britt both are practicing vegetarians who exercise passionately and aspire to a healthier life. Over the course of several years, Brian formulated Mākā to provide the nutritional benefits of wheatgrass, +energized+ with yerba mate and guayusa, combined with carefully selected fruit blends.
OUR INGREDIENTS
The ingredients in Mākā are sourced from North & South America. Wheatgrass is the pillar of our drinks since it provides the nutritional benefits of a superfood. When combined will all of the other organic ingredients, a delicious, refreshing beverage is born. We hope you enjoy drinking them as much as we do!
